Wrong conceptions about anti-doping tests

It is not necessary to subject athletes to tests for doping substances. Many cases show that tests for prohibited medications are not efficacious. In addition to this factor, it is important to realize that application of tests by anti-doping officers is illogical at Olympics. The main purpose of Olympic sportspersons is following: to become faster, stronger and to be at the top level. Thus, why should you keep sportspeople far from drugs that could help them to achieve this result?
As you know, steroids and other related preparations boost performance. Thus, athletes should be allowed to use these remedies in order to increase physical performance.
A lot of individuals say that steroids and other doping products make competitions unfair. Is this point of view true? No, it wrong. You should comprehend that tests for anabolic steroids and other related preparations make competitions unfair. Many athletes apply doping products while avoiding detection. So, some sportspersons apply anabolic steroids; others don’t break anti-doping rules. As a result, dopers have unfair advantage over non-dopers. It’s unfair. Let all athletes have similar access to performance-enhancing drugs. Thus, competitions will be fairer.
But debating about unfairness in sports, you should not forget about other aspects which have more significant impact of fairness/unfairness than anabolic steroids and other related medicines. Several sportspersons live in developed countries; others are in less developed countries. Certain sportspersons have money to purchase necessary equipment; others can’t afford it. Some countries can sponsor sportspersons, coaches, sport physicians and managers; others are not able to do it. Thus, unfairness should be discussed here.
Olympic athletes spend much time while training. They sacrifice time, money, etc. That’s why it is illogical to disqualify those who are caught using anabolic steroids and other doping products.
While sportspeople are sentenced to bans for application of steroids and several other chemical substances, they are never banned for usage of herbs and certain potions. It is stated that anabolic steroids and other chemical substances are suspended in sports because they can increase physical performance. But what is for herbs and potions? They are also capable to increase energy. Nevertheless, these remedies are not banned in sports.  Chinese athletes use herbal remedies and win.
Of course, you may argue that anabolic steroids and certain other preparations may lead to grave adverse consequences. Undoubtedly, certain banned products may cause serious health troubles. But those that plan to use these medications do own research. They are aware of possible risks. Let sportspersons decide whether it is worthy to take such drugs. If they are ready to ruin health, let them do it because they are masters upon own bodies.

Steroids sold at gyms are obtained from underground labs

David Howman, the CEO of the WADA, claims that China is the chief source of raw materials utilized by underground labs for manufacture of anabolic steroids, HGH and other related medications. Raw powders are shipped from this country. Then underground labs manufacture illicit medicines that are sold by dealers at gyms and on the streets.
The black market of anabolic steroids controls sales of illegal products on the white market. The black market turns out to be the source of medicines which are purchasable on the white market. It is believed that almost all preparations which are sold have been originally obtained from underground labs that have used raw materials from China.
Elite athletes are frequently blamed for application of anabolic steroids and other related medications. Since doping scandals appear each day, many individuals consider that steroids and other related products are mainly administered by top sportspersons. But it is important to notice that this a wrong opinion. Some experts have defined that steroids and other related preparations are more frequently administered by high school students and aged individuals who try to improve their appearance. While students want to increase muscle mass with the help of anabolic steroids and certain other illicit drugs, aged persons try to add strength and lower fat deposits with the help of these drugs.
Unluckily, legal supplements often contain steroidal ingredients. Companies include such compounds intentionally. As a result, those that apply just nutritional and/or sport supplements turn out to be dopers. According to David Howman, the CEO of the WADA, it is important to control supplement industry in order to prevent appearing of supplements that contain steroidal ingredients.

Why is it better to legalize doping in sports?

What is your opinion linked with legalization of doping in sports?  Certain individuals say that it is time to legalize it. Others are against it. What is your opinion?
Those that are against legalization of doping in sports say that anabolic steroids and other related medications represent essential evil. They may cause severe side results in users. Moreover, a doper has unfair advantage over a non-doper during competitions.
According to another opinion, application of steroids and other doping products should be allowed in sports. Let athletes use whatever they want! If they want to take anabolic steroids, let them do it! If they plan to administer other medications, let them do it! If they desire to administer some drugs, let doctors monitor their usage! Doctors know what their patients should do in order to prevent some adverse consequences. Thus, doping products will not lead to severe negative results. As a result, administration of steroids and other related medications will be relatively safe for health and life of users.
As you know, anabolic steroids and other doping products are currently prohibited in sports. When athletes are suspected and/or found guilty of doping, scandals appear. Such cases are often discussed during TV shows, in magazines, newspapers, on internet, etc. You must know that every scandal usually contains not only truth but also gossips, exaggerations, etc. As a result, you can’t assure whether several affirmations are true or not.
Those who are against legalization of doping in sports believe that athletes increase performance unnaturally with the help of anabolic steroids and other related drugs. Discussing about enhancement of physical performance, you should remember about enhancement of sexual performance, cognitive abilities, improvement of health, etc. Why do we apply certain medications and supplements, improving our health and life, while blaming sportspersons who try to promote performance with steroids and other doping products? Isn’t it hypocrisy? You would notice that anabolic steroids and some other performance-enhancing drugs cause health problems. Yes, it is true. But what do you think about usage of caffeine and nicotine? They are accepted in the society. But it is necessary to notice that caffeine and nicotine result in more serious health problems than anabolic steroids and other related preparations. Nonetheless, users of caffeine and nicotine are not so harshly criticized, as consumers of steroids.
Anti-doping agencies hope that they will soon eradicate doping from sports. “Competitions will be fair”, - they exclaim. But it is necessary to realize that doping will be never eliminated from sports. Anti-doping officials will not be ever able to do it. While they elaborate new tests and enhance sanctions for application of prohibited substances, athletes find new ways to avoid detection. So, anyone should understand that this conflict will never end, if doping is not legalized in sports.

Be honest while blaming some athletes and praising others!

Dan Le Batard, a newspaper sportswriter, claims that it is needed to think over our attitude to doping. Do we evaluate various athletes the same way? Do we accept usage of steroids and other related remedies by athletes? What is our real attitude to athletes that utilize anabolic steroids and/or other performance-enhancing drugs/procedures? Do we admire of those that have success in sports because of anabolic steroids and other related remedies?
Sometimes the society is guilty for doping of sportspersons. The society should be blamed for abnormal actions of sportspersons. The society praises abnormal things which occur in the world of sports. The society admires of those that have ligaments taken from cadavers. The society praises athletes that are involved in different abnormal actions: playing football with catheter, cutting fingers off, etc. Sportspersons do a lot to be celebrated. They submit to various procedures that are not required for their life. Furthermore, they use such drugs and procedures which cause various health problems in them. Why do they do such things? The answer is obvious: they want to hear words of admiration; they desire to be prominent. Thus, they do it for athletic performance. While athletes apply remedies that cause essential harm in them, we support their behavior through our admiration, awards, money, etc.
Actually, the society is full of hypocrisy. While we are inclined to blame steroids and certain other banned medicines, we don’t condemn sportspersons that utilize various procedures for enhancement of their athletic performance. While we demonize several dopers, we praise others. Why are several products and procedures banned for enhancement of performance, while others are allowed? Let be real! If you blame anabolic steroids, don’t support those that use alternatives to these products which are also able to promote physical performance. If you want to see natural talents of athletes, don’t admire of those that submit to different procedures for enhancement of athletic performance! Before you demonize or admire someone/something, ponder over this aspect! Don’t hurry and be reasonable!

Prominent athletes obtain doping products from anti-aging clinics

Many anti-aging clinics are linked with doping scandals. It’s naturally because they supply athletes and bodybuilders with steroids and other related medicines. When proper authorities search anti-aging clinics and confiscate documents, they find out that some well-known sport figures belong to clients of the clinics.
Lately several anti-aging clinics located in Miami were investigated. Feds found that the clinics offered prescription drugs for sale illegally. The clinics sold preparations for enhancement of muscle mass, weight loss, enhancement of strength, etc.
According to the newspaper the Miami New Times, the anti-aging clinic Biogenesis was found guilty of illicit sale of performance-enhancing drugs. Moreover, such well-known baseball players, as Alex Rodriquez and Melky Cabrera purchased doping products at Biogenesis of America. So, the anti-aging clinic appeared to be related to one of the biggest steroid scandals in baseball.
Medical records of Biogenesis were received from an employee of the clinic. The records were displayed on the website of the newspaper Miami New Times. Reporters said that the employee who gave the records didn’t want to be identified.
It is reported that steroids, HGH, IGF-1 and other prescription medicines are widely offered for sale illegally by anti-aging clinics. Furthermore, clinics hire physicians that provide fake prescriptions. Prescriptions for steroids and other related drugs are often given to clients without required evaluation of their personal conditions. Furthermore, physicians supply clients with needed prescriptions even without seeing them. In additions to these aspects, some corrupt physicians allow anti-aging clinics to utilize their prescription pads. So, anti-aging clinics sell anabolic steroids, painkillers and other prescription medicines illicitly, as if they acted legally.
When illegal operations of anti-aging clinics become obvious, owners of clinics, physicians and certain employees are sentenced to several sanctions. Nonetheless, the risk to receive punishment doesn’t stop clinics from their illegal activities. However proper authorities try to eliminate illicit sale of prescription drugs, their success is not yet significant.

Frank Thomas is glad that he has never doped

However certain individuals consider that doping will be never eliminated from sports, you can come across more optimistic points of view related to this issue.
Frank Thomas, a former MLB player claims that he has had success has in baseball without administration of steroids and other related drugs. He is happy that he has never doped. Looking at Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, he is proud of his accomplishments in baseball. The baseball stars Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa have achieved excellent success. But now their accomplishments are removed. These athletes are claimed to be liars. They haven’t been elected for the Baseball Hall of Fame, despites of their success. Frank Thomas is happy about this aspect. He notes that dopers must never be in the Hall of Fame. Moreover, Frank Thomas claims that he has played during the steroid era successfully without application of prohibited products.
Frank Thomas notices that he has respected the great baseball players Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens.  But since they have taken steroids and/or other forbidden medicines, Frank Thomas doesn’t consider them stars longer. However, he doesn’t have critical words for them. But Frank Thomas thinks that usage of performance-enhancing drugs is their decision and they have to suffer the consequences, being out of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa have been tainted. Their accomplishments don’t cost anything because they are fake. Such persons shouldn’t be praised.
Frank Thomas believes that the MLB acts correctly, agreeing to elaborate blood testing for HGH. While baseball players have been subjected to urine testing for HGH, they will be also subjected to blood testing for this forbidden product regularly. So, Frank Thomas claims that the anti-doping system becomes more effectual in the MLB. He suggests that doping will be eradicated from this sport totally. Games will be soon “clean”, according to Frank Thomas.

Performance-enhancing drugs should be allowed in sports

A lot of professional athletes got steroids and other doping products from Biogenesis, a Miami anti-aging clinic. The famous baseball stars Alex Rodriquez, Melky Cabrera and Bartolo Colon also belonged to persons that got anabolic steroids at this clinic.
What is unusual here? - Nothing. Anabolic steroids and other related drugs are widely used in baseball and in other sports. Sportspersons get these preparations at pharmacies, clinics, etc. A lot of anti-ageing clinics, drug manufacturers and other related establishments sell steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs illegally. Biogenesis is not the only clinic that is involved in illegal operations linked with anabolic steroids and other prescription preparations. Sportspersons find different methods to acquire steroids and other related products and apply them. However anti-doping officers try to eradicate doping from sports, their efforts are not successful.
Do you consider that anti-doping agencies don’t work enough well? Do you believe that they should establish more sophisticated drug testing policies? Do you consider that they don’t do their job appropriately?
It is needed to realize that no any drug testing program is able to eradicate doping from sports completely. Athletes find several ways to avoid detection. Doping is a part of sports. It exists from ancient time. Even ancient Greeks and Romans had several methods to enhance their performance to win. Will athletes discontinue administering steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs now?
Some sportspersons purchase undetectable medicines and take them. Moreover, they hire experts that supply them with recommendations on application of anabolic steroids and/or other performance-enhancing drugs. So, some athletes have unfair advantage over others. Anti-doping officials can’t change the situation. They are not able to make sports “clean”. What is it needed to do under such circumstances? It is probably necessary to legalize doping in professional sports. Thus, anyone will be allowed to apply whatever he/she wants. As a result, no any athlete will have unfair advantage over another.
But since anabolic steroids and other related drugs are banned in sports, athletes try to find methods to obtain and apply these medications, avoiding detection. When it becomes evident that certain athletes dope, scandals appear.
