The Canadian wrestler Colin Daynes tested positive for forbidden products. Unfortunately, his Olympic dreams will not be real. He was banned for 2 years.
Last year the sportsman was chosen for the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame.
The athlete was sentenced to the ban by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports. He failed a drug test, when he got a gold medal in the 74-kg weight category.
The sportsman tested positive for Drostanolone, Boldenone, Tamoxifen and Furosemide. Every of these products is in the list of forbidden drugs of the World Anti-Doping Agency. As for Drostanolone and Boldenone, they belong to anabolic steroids. Furosemide represents a diuretic drug. It is applied as a masking agent for other medications. Tamoxifen is a drug which is advised for prevention of unwanted consequences which appear due to application of steroids.
The athlete admitted to intake of prohibited products and accepted the sentence. He claimed that he took the prohibited drugs for getting or recovery from an injury. Colin Daynes told to The Star Monday night that he desired to recover in order to take part in the 2012 Olympics. The athlete noticed that a naturopathic doctor advised to use these preparations. The wrestler also added that he hadn’t known that the medicines were forbidden. According to his affirmations, if he had known, he wouldn’t have competed.
The wrestler was going to represent Canada at the Olympics again. The wrestler represented his country at the 1996 Olympics that took place in Atlanta.
He didn’t put efforts to defense himself. The athlete noticed that there was no any difference whether the banned medications were found in the blood or not. They were in the system.
Previously this wrestler also competed in mixed martial arts. Colin Daynes had to qualify internationally. The wrestler thought that he would compete at the Olympic Games in London last time. Then his career comes to the end. But he was banned  due to positives for prohibited products.
