Do anabolic steroids lead to grave kidney disorders?

Anabolic steroids are often blamed for different health problems of consumers. Undoubtedly, these products may lead to certain adverse reactions. Let analyze two situations. One of the cases is related to the former American bodybuilder Flex Wheeler. Another situation is connected with another former bodybuilder Luke Wood.
The former American bodybuilder Flex Wheeler experienced kidney failure. This man submitted to a kidney transplant. Since he used steroids, the media decided to demonize these preparations for kidney dysfunctions of Flex Wheeler. Actually, Flex Wheeler had a hereditary kidney disease. Of course, usage of anabolic steroids contributed to the complications. But did the bodybuilder administer steroids properly? Did he follow reasonable instructions connected with doses and length of administration? No, he didn’t. The bodybuilder took very high doses of steroids. Moreover, he administered these medicines long period of time. In addition to these conditions, the former American bodybuilder used also other medications which had negative influence on his kidneys. So, anabolic steroids should not be demonized for Flex Wheeler’s disease.
As it has been already noted, another case is linked with the former bodybuilder Luke Wood. He died after a kidney transplant, being a young man. The media also chose to blame anabolic steroids in this case. It was stated that steroids caused kidney disorders in Luke Wood. But you should be informed that Luke Wood took not only anabolic steroids. He administered also insulin, pain drugs, DNP and other medications that influenced on the kidneys negatively. So, it is impossible to affirm that steroids were responsible for his kidney failure and death.
According to numerous experts, if steroids are administered properly, severe kidney dysfunctions don’t occur.
