While Patrick Mended was banned for usage HGH, Joshua Gilbert was sentenced to suspension for intake of furosemide

Patrick Mendes and Joshua Gilbert, top Olympic weightlifters, were banned from “Average Broz’s Gymnasium” (Las Vegas, Nevada). They tested positive for prohibited medications. Steroids were not the preparations applied by these athletes. They applied non-steroidal medications which are also banned under Code of the WADA.
Patrick Mendes tested positive for forbidden preparations in February 2012 before the United States Olympic Team Trials for Weightlifting determined who would represent the US at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He tested for HGH; as a result, he was banned.
Joshua Gilbert tested positive for the diuretic medicine furosemide at the 2012 National Weightlifting Championships. It was in March 2012.
Furosemide is a product that is used by those that take steroids in order to hide usage of steroids. Furthermore, this preparation helps athletes to lose weight in order to meet criteria of certain weight groups.  Weightlifting, boxing and wrestling are sports that divide competitors to weight classes.
HGH and furosemide are products which are banned by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). The anti-doping system of the IWF meets criteria of the WADA Code.
Mendes and Gilbert were trained by John Broz. Broz lived and trained with the famous Bulgarian weightlifter Antonio Krastev during his career. Krastev broke a world record snatch of 216 kg in 1987. John Broz studied the Bulgarian system of trainings and brought some methods to America. He founded own training gym in Las Vegas.
Mendes was suspended for 2 years. As for Gilbert, he was sentenced to 3-year ban.
The suspensions of these athletes are failure for “Average Broz’s Gym”. Thus, the greatest weightlifters were not allowed to represent their native country at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Doping case linked with Larry Olubamiwo

The boxer Larry “War Machine” Olubamiwo took certain anabolic steroids, HGH, IGF-1 and other doping drugs during six years. However certain tests have been conducted earlier, he was caught just in January 2012. After a fight against Sam Sexton Larry Olubamiwo tested positive for forbidden medications. Metabolites of steroids were not found in his sample. The boxer tested positive for EPO. EPO represents a blood boosting medicine.
Prolonged usage of forbidden medications by Olubamiwo was a real embarrassment for the United Kingdom Anti-Doping. Andy Parkinson, the CEO of the UKAD, tried to prove that the suspension of Olubamiwo for administration of 13 various banned drugs is a real success of the UKAD in the struggle against doping.
Andy Parkinson noted that it was an unusual case. The boxer applied steroids and other related preparations for prolonged time without fear to destroy his health, career and reputation. He was sentenced to 4-year suspension.
But the alarming fact is following: Olumamiwo could avoid detection for long time, despites essential efforts of anti-doping officers to “clean” sports from intake of doping medications.
Olubamiwo was caught just because the UKAD was informed by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that he became the target of an investigation related to illegal sale of anabolic steroids and other related drugs in the US. Then the UKAD conducted a test that resulted in positives for EPO.
Robert Smith, the General Secretary for the British Boxing Board of Control, supported the affirmations of Andy Parkinson about efforts and success of anti-doping officers. He noticed that the case demonstrated that cheating couldn’t be hidden.
What do you think about the case? Do positives for EPO and the suspension of Olubamiwo display that anti-doping officers work successfully? Or does the case manifest that anti-doping policy is not proper?
Anyone can make own conclusion. But it is clear that the sportsman could apply numerous forbidden medications for 6 years without being caught by anti-doping officers.

Numerous persons criticize Linda McMahon for steroid use in WWE

Linda McMahon puts significant efforts to prove that she is a politician that deserves to be trusted. She tried to get rid of steroid associations which have destroyed the reputation of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) throughout numerous years. Of course, her opponents ever used possibilities to notice about serious problems associated with intake of steroids in the WWE.
It is ever noted that Linda McMahon is the former President and CEO of the WWE. The WWE was founded by her and her husband Vince McMahon in 1990. Almost 60% of the traded stock of the WWE is owned by them. They got great profits due to the WWE Empire. One billion dollars was earned by the McMahons due to the business connected with the WWE. Mrs. McMahon ended her tenure of the WWE in 2009 and started her political career. She joined the Republican Party seeking a Senatorial Seat for the State of Connecticut.  The woman spent circa 50 million dollars on the campaign. But she didn’t get success. The nominee of the Democratic Party Richard Blumenthal won. Now she is seeking the Republican nomination in order to replace Joe Lieberman, another retiring Senator for Connecticut’s State.
Since Linda McMahon got involved in politics, many persons began to criticize her for application of steroids in the WWE.
A newspaper confirms that Linda McMahon loves to note that she has created several jobs but she doesn’t answers questions about the jobs. An article claims that the CEO of the WWE makes fun of feebleminded men that humble women and promotes administration of steroids.
The WWE responded quickly to these statements. The Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for WWE Brian Flinn has claimed that the WWE worries about health of wrestlers and random drug testing manifests that the WWE is against application of steroids. At least 4 random tests are conducted per year for each wrestler. Those that test positive for forbidden products are suspended. Thus, the WWE prohibits intake of steroids. Furthermore, Brian Flinn has noticed that the WWE has one of the best wellness systems in sports and entertainment.

Victor Conte: efforts of anti-doping agencies enforce athletes to adopt

Recently Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, expressed his thoughts about testing of anti-doping agencies and the current state of doping among sportspersons.
Conte has claimed that it is unlikely that the 2012 London Olympics would be free from intake of steroids and other related medicines. Conte confirmed in an interview that Olympic anti-doping testing program had various flaws. Thus, steroid users were also chosen to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Victor Conte doesn’t believe that intake of forbidden medications has diminished. He doesn’t agree with persons who confirm that low performance in different sports proves that steroids and other related drugs are almost excluded from sports.
The founder of BALCO notices that steroids are widely applied now too. Efforts of anti-doping agencies led to adoption of sportspeople. So, sportspersons don’t use as high doses as have been taken before.  Nonetheless, usage of steroids and other doping preparations continues to be a concern.
Victor Conte is sure that sportspersons don’t use such designer steroids, as THG. Instead of using such preparation, sportspersons use the steroid testosterone that is believed to be the grandfather of all steroids.  Victor Conte adds that since testosterone is fast-acting and it is getable in form of creams, gels, patches and injections, it is widely administered by sportspeople. Moreover, not too high measures of testosterone are needed in order to cause great results. This steroid is widespread among Major League Baseball players.
Conte criticizes anti-doping policy. He states that anti-doping agencies have essential ambiguities. Even a truck may go through loopholes which are in doping rules, according to the founder of BALCO.

President of Singapore Bodybuilding & Fitness Foundation: it is necessary to promote reducing harm in steroid users

Reporters are used to exaggerate any case linked with steroids in sports and bodybuilding. Many facts are described in misleading ways. So, steroid scandals appear without any reason. Here is the case.
Rano Izhar, the president of the Singapore Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (SBFF), has acknowledged that he provided recommendations linked with application of anabolic steroids.
Any person that belongs to the world of bodybuilding knows that steroids, HGH and several other related medicines are widely spread and utilized by bodybuilders. Certain news websites have written many articles, presenting the actions of the SBFF president as a steroid scandal. But be careful! He has not sold anabolic steroids, he has only spread information.
The Singapore’s newspaper “The New Paper” acquired emails between a bodybuilder and the president of the SBFF which were written before Rano Izhar became the president. Izhar provided indications related to steroids cycles to the bodybuilder. The cycles were composed of 14 various medicines, including such steroids, as Anadrol 50, Dianabol, Primobolan Depot, etc. Clomid was also included in the cycles.
Izhar confirmed that the guidelines were only for his friend that was an amateur bodybuilder. Moreover, Izhar was not the president of the SBFF, when he provided the recommendations.
Izhar’s friend planned to apply steroids. It was his friend’s decision. Izhar didn’t promote it. He only desired to help his friend. He wished he administered steroids in the safest way.
Izhar admitted that he had provided guidelines connected with steroid cycles. He affirmed that he needed to tell his friend which preparations were efficacious and which preparations didn’t work well. He added that when anyone asked him about ways to use steroids, it meant that they would administer them, regardless of the answer. Thus, the president just felt that he had to notice at least the most important aspects which should be known about steroids.
Izhar has acquired the degree of Doctor in “lifestyle medicine” at the Harvard Medical School. He felt that he had to do everything he could for harm reduction for those who administer steroids and other related medications.

Steroid source is busted in Poland due to collaboration of Polish policemen and US DEA

You must have observed that the US tries to bust multinational companies that advertise steroids on internet and ship them to clients around the world.
Recently the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has collaborated with Polish law enforcement officers in order to bust individuals that have been suspected in shipment of steroids and other doping medications to various countries of the world.
This investigation started circa one year ago. The polish Border Guard Straz Graniczna intercepted huge doses of steroids that were sent to individuals in the US and Canada. Injectable and oral steroids were seized at the Warsaw mail terminal.
Straz Graniczna collaborated with US DEA. Finally 2 men from Poland were detained. One of them was detained, after he left the post office. Over 7, 000 steroid tablets and 19, 000 steroid vials and 47, 000 Polish zloty or over 14, 000 US dollars were discovered in this man’s car. But it was just the beginning of seizures.
It was learnt that an apartment located in Warsaw served as a base of the underground lab that manufactured steroids that are ordinarily used by American bodybuilders. When law enforcement officials raided the apartment, they found drug paraphernalia there. The apartment was utilized not just for manufacture of steroids but also for keeping of ready steroids. About 666, 000 steroid pills, 19, 000 vials of steroids and more than 5, 000 steroid ampoules were confiscated during the raid. The medicines were estimated. The price was claimed to be 6 million Polish zloty that are equal to 1, 8 million US dollars.
It is suggested that the US will ask Polish authorities to extradite these two individuals.
The USA becomes aggressive, when it comes to struggle against steroids. International steroid companies are busted.
But the US doesn’t have significant success working with Europe and Asia. The US presses other countries to detain and extradite steroid dealers.
Distributors of steroids that were linked with British Dragon and Musclebear were arrested and extradited to the US from Thailand and Cyprus.
The US pressed Austria to arrest the steroid dealer Mihael Karner. Thus, he was arrested. Then the USA pressed Austrian authorities to extradite this individual to the US. But feds didn’t succeed that time. Karner paid one million Euros to Austrian authorities to avoid the extradition and reach his native country Slovenia.

Some Roger Clemens jurors agreed to be interviewed by Associated Press and New York Daily News

Names of 12 persons (four men and eight women) who acted as jury at the case against Roger Clemens were released by the judge Reggie Walton.
The government wanted the jury to be convinced that the athlete had lied before the Congress about intake of steroids and HGH. But since the jury didn’t believe it, the government criticized the individuals that acted as the jury. Some individuals that acted as the jury were interviewed.
A political activist, an art historian, a teacher of deaf children, an official of Treasury Department and an employee of the Canadian Embassy composed the jury.
Joyce Robinson-Paul, a political activist, was interviewed by the New York Daily News some days after Roger Clemens was cleared of the charges. She confirmed that the jurors understood that they had to be fair to both the government and the sportsperson. But they didn’t find anything that had to be pursued.  Later she also affirmed that the government couldn’t prove their accusations.
The employee of the Canadian Embassy Bradford Weaver stated that the government was wrong. This person noticed that such situations should not be repeated. He also confirmed that there was nothing to be pursued. This person was interviewed by the Associated Press. This person also noticed that every juror was convinced from the very beginning that Clemens was not guilty of any charge. This person pointed that each juror was unanimous.
Bradford Weaver was also asked whether he considered that Roger Clemens really took steroids. Journalists of the Associated Press also asked him whether he thought that the governmental case against the baseball player represented only the waste of taxpayers’ funds. But Bradford Weaver refused to answer the questions.
Another juror that preferred not to be identified noted that the jurors were wondering how the government could spend significant sums of money during 5 years in order to prosecute the baseball player. This person noted that it was impossible to understand why the prosecution lasted for 5 years.
Other jurors didn’t present any information.
As for federal prosecutors, they seemed to be completely disappointed. They refused to respond to the statements pronounced by the jurors.
